We are proud that the Netherlands has the honour of hosting the 2013 International Summit on the Teaching Profession in its beautiful capital of Amsterdam. As with the previous two editions the organisation of the 3rd summit will involve the joint efforts of OECD, trade unions and the government. A fruitful collaboration that will lead to exceptional results!

In addition to The Netherlands, participating countries and regions are Belgium, Canada, People's Republic of China, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States.

From the following countries high level policymakers and/or union leaders are present: UK, France, Hungary, Slovenia, Finland, Singapore, Australia, Chile and South Korea. Beside that South Africa will attend the summit as an observer (like last year).

The Summit will thrive by open and direct interaction between all participants; those with heart for education, who are willing to share their extensive experiences, to motivate one another and to inspire.
